OHA Hockey Development Personnel

Hockey Director Patrick Turcotte - One of the prime reasons OHA has become one of the great producer of players to the next level has been the building of an excellent coaching staff. We consistently see our coaches push and get the most out of our athletes.  Director-Coach Turcotte surrounds himself with coaches who contribute to OHA mandate, to get these players ready for junior teams, showcase events and world junior championships. Working as a group, our players will learn, develop, improve, and mature to become better players, students and citizens.

Coach and Director of Scouting Jay McNeil - "Coach Jay brings energy and passion not only for the sport of hockey, but for our Academy program as well" said Director Turcotte. Jay was a Hobby Baker finalist while playing at NCAA Colorado College, the award given to the NCAA MVP of the year. Jay played his junior hockey in British Columbia and played professional hockey in Germany. “Jay will be a great resource for our student-athletes and their overall development"

Coach Jeff Legue - Coach Legue graduated and played at NCAA D1 Ferris State University after being player of the year in the Central Junior A hockey league. Jeff played professional in USA before heading to play 10 years in Europe. An arts science major, Jeff is married with a young 4 year old son.

Coach Kevin Rawlick - Kevin joins us after coaching AAA Midget in Saskatchewan for 6 years.  Kevin is High Performance Certified and focuses a lot on skill development with his teams taking pride in moving players to the next level.  After a successful junior career in Saskatchewan, Kevin played 4 years NCAA hockey at Mercyhurst College.  After a year of pro hockey, Kevin turned to his college degree and launched an Information Technology company that he operated for over 15 years.  Coaching at all levels during this time, with many of his players moving on to junior, college and professional.  Kevin spends evenings working with players on the treadmill.  Kevin continues to work with former and current players in the off season with their skill development. Kevin's energy, passion and knowledge of the game are a huge asset to his coaching style.

Coach Cody Malette  -Coach Cody is a recent graduate of the Hockey GM and Scouting course where he learned what teams scouting department look for in recruiting players.  There is a new shift in scouting techniques using specific software for video analysis and analytics. "This is a valuable tool to show players what scouts now look for in players" says director Turcotte. "He'll share his knowledge on the cutting edge technology being implemented by hockey teams in scouting talent  at the Junior and NCAA level."

Coach Rick Lalonde "Coach Lalonde has been a great addition to the Ontario Hockey Academy coaching ranks," said Director Turcotte. "Coach Rick proven history of success, winning and leadership in hockey will be a great asset not just for our teams but for our academy as a whole. Rick has over 35 years of coaching experience in AAA, Junior and in the minor professional ranks"
"I am really thrilled about the opportunity to coach at OHA. I feel very fortunate of the opportunity" said Rick. "There's a lot of work to be done to prepare these players and I promise it's going to be a very exciting season for everyone involved in hockey at OHA."
