Dining Services
The dining program strives to
serve a variety of fresh and, when possible, locally grown food for the Academy.
One of our major goals is to provide good quality and healthy food in an
attractive setting. Literature throughout the dining room promotes and educates students about
the types and quantities of food needed for a healthy lifestyle. You'll always
hear an assortment of music. We think it's important that our dining facility is
a place to relax, eat good food, and have some fun in an otherwise full and busy
day. The dining program is committed to great service and quality food in a relaxing
environment. Our staff is committed to providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere
for everyone. It's not uncommon for our staff to know many of our students
personally and to ask questions about their day, their families and their
sporting events. Overall we nurture, as well as, nourish our students. That's our
goal.
The dining service meets the continuously increasing
culinary sophistication and wide-ranging tastes of our student body with diverse
and ever-changing
menus emphasizing wholesome, healthy foods.
The dining service offers a box lunch program for traveling athletes and
catering services to meet the needs of
students, staff, faculty, and visitors. Suggestions from students are
always welcome. The dining service's director meets with students on a regular basis.
In the dining hall, you’ll see Salad Bars,
Deli Bars,
Toast and Cereal Tables,
Beverages, Fruits, Desserts, and a Snack Table.

Ask the
Nutritionist
Our dietitian is available as a
resource for students, parents, faculty and staff.
Students can make nutritional counseling appointments to discuss
issues related to
food
allergies,
athletes and nutrition,
vegetarian eating, or general eating concerns. Our dietitian will
also meet regularly with athletic teams, offering information about eating and
hydration for peak performance and is always available to answer questions and provide
guidance on a wide range of issues.
The dietitian attempts to meet with
each athletic team at the beginning of each sports season to provide verbal and
written sports nutrition information to meet the fueling and nutritional needs
of active, growing adolescents. Students often make an appointment to meet
with the dietitian individually for more specific personalized guidance.
Nutritional services are free
of charge and the dietitian will work closely with
dining
service as an adviser. We review
Daily
Menus to assess nutritional value, balance and healthy preparation
of food choices.
