Admissions Guides
Volunteer tour guides serve an important function, as they are responsible for
conveying information and personal impressions about life at the Academy to
the public. In this way, they stimulate interest in and enthusiasm for the
Academy. They are instrumental in bringing to OHA an exciting and diverse student
body.
Breakfast
Fundraiser
Each
year a student run fundraiser will be held at the Academy to support one of the
local charities. We will invite the community to have breakfast at the academy,
where they will be served by the students. This allows our students to be part
of our local community and for our local community to see our students and what
they stand
for.
Culinary Society
The Culinary Society, or more commonly known as the "cooking club", strives to educate people
about the culinary arts. To do this, the club meets frequently on Sunday
evenings to prepare dinner. The menus are never the same and the items can range
from Thai Green Curry to Spanish Paella. Students who participate will learn how
to prepare an array of diverse foods from all over the world. If you love food,
or love to cook, or want to learn to cook, the Culinary Society is for you.
Environmental Action Committee
The EAC is a student-run
organization devoted to protecting the environment. We attempt to effect change
by spreading awareness, holding educational events and celebrating the
environment through outdoor activities. We educate the campus community through
public demonstrations, speakers, and movies. We also go on several outdoor
appreciation trips throughout the year. It is our goal to implement
environmental awareness into the every day decision making of our
students.
OHA-Athletics Website
The
OHA-Athletics Website is student-run
current events website where students learn website developments and its
components. Our aim is to provide the student body and
their parents with convenient access to Academy news in a more readable and
space-efficient format than found in newspapers and magazines. Our writers
provide balanced reports, summarize games and keep the OHA community informed
about all of our activities.
