Facility Equipment
Located
at the Academy is our own fully equipped
Athletic Republic training facility featuring an indoor turf ‘field’, a
22.5' x 44' synthetic ice surface, a complete complement of treadmills (both
running and skating) and hockey specific training equipment, FreeMotion strength
equipment and Life Fitness bikes.
Skating Treadmill

Hockey players from youth to
professional levels improve their mechanics on the Athletic Republic-patented
Skating Treadmill. The athletes wear their own ice skates to skate on a
synthetic ice treadmill that can incline up to 32% and reach a maximum speed of
17mph. Much like the running treadmill, it works to improve skating speed,
biomechanics and strength throughout the six-week training program.
The
skating treadmill tilts from
zero to plus 32 percent elevation and runs at speeds over 16 miles per hour.
The skating treadmill incorporates
the patented SprintCords to optimally recruit skating-specific musculature.
Athletic
Republic
technology improves a skater's abilities, by analyzing a
skater's mechanics and correcting skating flaws. In
addition, the Skating Treadmill gives skaters the ability to train in a
performance-controlled environment with their own skating equipment, including
skates!
Pro
Multi-Hip

The Pro Multi-Hip is a lower
extremity exercise device for hip flexion or extension exercises and abduction
and adduction exercises. It has the capacity to function as a very
high-intensity, high-loading exercise machine for healthy athletes and as a very
low-intensity, low-loading station for rehabilitation of both the hip girdle and
lower extremity.
Core
muscle groups include:
- Upper/lower abdomen
- Lower back
- Front and back of the
hips
- Inside and outside of
the upper legs
If your core
muscle groups are not strong, you are not as fast, quick, or mobile as you can
be. Hip extensors initiate maximal force production into the ground and hip
flexor strength has been reported in scientific literature to be the number one
limiting factor to sprint speed development. In addition, as the abductors and
adductors provide stability about the hip girdle and are key to change of
direction movements, the Pro Multi-Hip provides a dynamic avenue to optimize
this development.
Plyo Platform

Our
multi-layered Plyo Platform brings safety and state-of-the-art technique to
plyometric jump exercises. With SprintCord technology built into its frame, the
Plyo Platform is the only plyometric device that recruits the hip flexors,
extensors, abductors and adductors during actual athletic movements. Flexors and
extensors are strengthened for forward and reverse speed.
The Plyo
Platform is ideal for sport-specific training. Repositioning the SprintCords and
altering the patterns of movement within our four-vector formation can create 52
different load combinations to the lower extremity, making it possible to create
precise regimens designed for specific results.
With the Plyo Platform, athletes develop keen body
awareness, strength, agility and fast response rates. Contact-sport athletes can
quickly outmaneuver competitors. Others can respond instantly to ball location,
changing field conditions and competitor positions.
Cord
Technology

Our Cord Programs
implement the use of various resistance cords for sport-specific training. The
use of our cord technology enhances your workouts by providing resistance to
upper and lower body extremities, building more powerful motions for sprinting,
skating, jumping, throwing, swinging
or other sport-specific motions.
