Giles Lascelle has been involved with Women's hockey at the local, regional and provincial levels. Teams under Lascelle leadership have finished in 1st place 4 straight years and have qualified for Ontario Provincial championships in each of his seven years. Lascelle has an impressive record of 203-47-14, including Ontario Provincial Championship Gold Medal, Ontario Provincial Championship Bronze Medal, 3 Ottawa District Women's League Championships, 11 tournament Championships including the Connecticut Polar Bear tournament, Brampton Easter Tournament and the Ottawa National Capital Competitive tournament.  In 2005-06 season, of the 212 teams that play in the Ottawa District Women's Hockey League, his team was the only team that went undefeated during regular and post season. These accomplishments were made despite having one of the smallest women's associations in Ontario. For his efforts, Lascelle was named as an associated coach for the 2006 Ontario U-18 Team at the Canadian National Championships in Salmon Arm, British Columbia.

Along with being a head coach, Lascelle became President of Cornwall Girls Hockey Association and began to build and transform the competitive program from A class to AA status, AA being the highest division in Ontario Women's Hockey. It didn’t take long to be successful at this level as Lascelle's team finished 3rd in Ontario winning bronze medal. The Cornwall Lady Typhoons Competitive program is now one of the top associations in the country and quietly players are grabbing attention to many college and university teams. Lascelle developed and formed the junior model for Cornwall Girls Hockey. In 2 short years, the newly formed junior team has sent 7 players to preparatory schools, 5 players to universities, 2 players to Ontario U18 team and 1 player to the USA U18 team.

Lascelle is very active with Canadian Hockey. He was a co-owner of the Cornwall Major Junior A Hockey Club which has produced many NHL players such as Doug Gilmour, Owen Nolan, and Dale Howerchuck, to name a few.  Lascelle has been involved with Youth Sports Program and Giles has been a power skating and magic hands instructor for Huron Hockey School for 20 years. Lascelle has also been educator at Hockey Coaching Clinics. He has served on the recreation ice advisory committee and the new 4 pad ice arena committee. Lascelle has also served as director of scheduling for the Ottawa District Womens Hockey Association and as a representative official for Ontario Women Hockey Association Playdown games.

A native Ontarian, Lascelle played his minor competitive hockey in Cornwall, Ontario. He played Junior in Winchester Ontario where he led his team in scoring and was voted Most Valuable Player. Lascelle went on to play University Hockey in Montreal for the Concordia Stingers. Lascelle served his junior and senior years as captain of the Concordia Stingers and was team Most Valuable Player. In 1986, his team lost the Canadian University National Finals to Mike Keenan’s University of Toronto Blues. Lascelle was chosen twice on the University Team All Star Squad. In 1986, he was chosen to play on the University Select team that played against Team Canada Olympic Team.  Lascelle team members included Mike Babcock, Present Coach of the Detroit Red Wings, who in conjunction played against many current NHL Players. Lascelle went on to play professional hockey in Olofstrom, Sweden, where he was chosen team Most Valuable Player. His Swedish team finished second place, one point out of first place. That was a significant accomplishment since the team had finished in 11th place a year earlier.

Lascelle was born in July 1962 lives with his wife Kim and 4 children, Kayla, Jenna, Liam and Tia.
